A Request for Prayer

This Thursday, December 1 at 10 am (PT), I’ll be speaking for chapel at Multnomah University. My title is “Our Manger Was Empty”–adapted from Walter Wangerin’s beautiful short story entitled “The Manger Is Empty.” Since this is such an emotional time of year for us and I’ll be telling the story of Robb’s death, I desperately need your prayers, my family and friends! My heart’s desire is to give my listeners a hope-filled message for this Christmas season, even in the shadow of whatever pain we might be experiencing. Thank you in advance for your prayers, and I’m sending love to you all!

  2. I was thinking of you both the other day when I heard the song, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time Of the Year”. Whoever wrote that must have been 10 years old. For so many, these holidays are so difficult. Robb’s death so affected our Christmas that year and since. I can barely think of you both without my heart aching still. What a wonderful young man he was with such beautiful promise. Know our prayers, love, care are with you. You will be of great service to Christ as you speak and share Christ’s love with all those lucky ears. Love you so much, sweetie.

  3. Oh Carolyn,

Such courage and such grace. I shall be prayerful before and during your message. God’s blessing will be upon you.
