M&M&M’s

Craig and I recently entered another life stage: Transition. I don’t like it. I don’t do it well. But…such it is. So after arguing with God a bit (well, maybe more than a little, and God knows I’m not quite done yet), he and I came up with some challenges for me to work on. During these months ahead, I’m asking him to help me focus on this as a time of…

  • Trust – in you, Lord, and only you
  • Rest – from so much unrest (and pain)…in our lives, in our souls
  • Restoration – rebuilding, re-patching, healing of our souls
  • Adventure – help us choose to view our in between time this way as we wait
  • Malleability – with all my heart, Lord, I ask that we would be conformed to your image in an even deeper way. Change us to our cores, Lord, as you desire.

M&M&M‘s? My central prayer request for these coming months: Make Me Malleable. Make my heart squishy, Lord, if need be: so flexible and ready to be all you want me to be, embracing the change that my sinful heart needs. To help with that goal, I’ve put Psalm 43 to memory, given to me by precious Judy. And as I study Romans now for my devotions, chapter 12, verses 1 and 2 pierce my heart in new ways:

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.

And speaking of M&M&M‘s…I hear dark chocolate calling to me. We need to eat it, you know, for the medicinal benefits.

From Psalm 43 –

Send forth your light and your truth, let them guide me…

…my God, my joy and my delightfor I will yet praise him!
